Handel's Messiah: Easter Portion"

The Symphony will perform Handel's "Messiah: Easter Portion" at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 29, and Tuesday, March 30, in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall. Handel's Baroque masterpiece for orchestra, choirs and soloists will be performed by the Symphony, University Choir and Choral Union, with Dr. Steven Hendricks, conductor. This concert will present the Easter Portion (Parts II and III) of "Messiah," with powerful choruses and solos that tell the story of Christ's Passion and Resurrection. Be prepared for such gems as "The Trumpet Shall Sound," along with the immortal "Hallelujah Chorus." This concert also will feature the student winners of the 2009-2010 Concerto and Aria Competition.
