Past: Diabetes Self-Management Support Group by SoutheastHEALTH

Healthpoint Plaza

Southeast Diabetes Center hosts this free support group facilitated by Southeast’s Diabetes Educators.

The programs are geared toward people who are living with diabetes and trying to control blood glucose. Friends and family members are also welcome.

This month's meeting will be from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13 at HealthPoint Plaza in Cape.

The program, “Diabetes and Wound Care,” will focus on the importance of managing diabetic wounds that are often slow to heal and require medical attention. By 2030, it is estimated that more than 550 million people around the world will have diabetes. About 25 percent of these individuals will develop foot ulcers which often requires advanced diabetic wound treatment to prevent serious complications. The speaker is Ashtin Cohn, RN, with Southeast Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.

Register online or call the Southeast Diabetes Center at 339-0121 to take advantage of this free program.
