Past: Residential fire sprinklers summit

Drury Plaza Conference Center

Fire service personnel, building officials, homebuilders, contractors, and safety advocates from all over Missouri and the country are coming together in Cape Girardeau on March 23 to learn about life and property-saving residential sprinklers at the 2018 Missouri Home Fire Sprinkler Summit. The event takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on March 23, at the Drury Plaza Hotel Cape Girardeau Conference

Center.

Summit presentations include a look at successes and lessons learned from adding home fire sprinklers to a recent Habitat for Humanity development in Cape Girardeau, case studies and partnerships for sprinklered housing, the science of suppressing fire dynamics in a modern-built environment, changing the future of burn injuries, and debating ways to reduce sprinkler design and installation costs.

Attendees will also get to witness a live, side-by-side burn demonstration showing the difference between rooms with and without sprinkler protection, hosted by the Cape Girardeau and Bolivar City fire departments.

This is the fourth Sprinkler Summit hosted in the state by the Missouri Fire Sprinkler Coalition. Previous Summits have taken place in Columbia, Springfield, and the St. Louis area. The event anticipates bringing about 50 visitors to Cape Girardeau area from around the region, state, and country.

Online registration is open at bit.ly/mosprinkler18. Early bird registration pricing is $40 through March 22. On March 23, pricing is $50. Registration can be completed through the morning of the event.
