Past: Burrito-Ville and Cape Parks and Recreation #GiveBacktoCape

CAPE GIRARDEAU--Burrito-Ville, a locally owned and operated restaurant, will hold its monthly #GiveBacktoCape fundraising event on April 18th from 5-9 p.m. in support of Robert Harris and Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Foundation.

The #GiveBacktoCape event for Robert Harris will donate 10 percent of all sales from 5-9 p.m., including t-shirts, gift certificates, food and beverages. The money raised will go towards Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation foundation in conjunction with the “Friends of the Park Day & The Great Cape Cleanup” which helps the community parks.

Keep Cape Beautiful Committee is a volunteer board to beautify Cape Girardeau. The goal of the committee is to enhance to attractiveness of Cape by keeping littering to a minimum, adding aesthetic quality to parks and streets by planting flowers and trees and other greenery.

Their “Friends of the Park Day & The Great Cape Cleanup” is Saturday, April 21, 2018 and seeks to help the local parks around town with a day of cleanup and projects like planting flower beds, mulch playgrounds, painting playground equipment and overall beautifying Cape Girardeau. Volunteers for Friends of the Park Day and can register at www.cityofcape.org/friendsofthepark.

Robert Harris has lead many programs like Kids in the Kitchen, the Public Health Center was instrumental in starting, and Community Garden Program which is his legacy and it’s something that I’m still growing, said Harris. The programs reaches out to underprivileged kids and teaches them about the importance of vegetables and eating healthy.

Attendees at the #GiveBacktoCape event can expect to have great food, and learn more about Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation projects. We also offer a pet-friendly patio.This event is kid-friendly and families are encouraged to attend.

Throughout the year, Burrito-Ville holds #GiveBacktoCape events in support of a local organization. You must be a local charity to be considered.
