Past: Kent Library Athenaeum

Kent Library, Southeast Missouri State University

Join us March 28 at noon for our March Athenaeum with Dr. Eric Clements. Contracted to write a book about life aboard the most celebrated ship in the U.S. Navy, the author of USS Constitution: A Midshipman’s Pocket Manual 1814 will review the history and preservation of the oldest commissioned warship afloat. He will also discuss his efforts to interpret life aboard during the War of 1812 using original sources from that general era, and the creative opportunities and historical hazards presented by attempting to narrate in period voice.

This presentation is part of Kent Library’s monthly Athenaeum series, located in Sadie’s Place on the main floor of Kent Library. All presentations in the Athenaeum series are free and open to the public.
