Past: Show Hope Presents: Empowered to Connect Conference Simulcast

The Children's Coalition is once again proud to bring the Empowered to Connect Simulcast to the Cape Girardeau area. Empowered To Connect, together with Show Hope and The Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at TCU, hosts this two-day conference designed for adoptive and foster parents, teachers, ministry leaders, mental health counselors and case workers, social workers, residential care staff, and other professionals.

Empowered to Connect helps us to better understand how to connect with “children from hard places”: children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other kinds of trauma and who struggle with emotional and behavioral difficulties as a result.

This two day conference event will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. each day. Coffee, water and light refreshments will be provided during the morning and afternoon breaks. There will be a 1 hour break scheduled for an off-site lunch each day.

Each attendee will receive a certificate of attendance which will be handed out at the end of each day.

Missouri Children's Division has approved this conference for 5.5 hours of training credit each day for Missouri foster parents.
