Past: Prescription Drug Take Back & Child Safety Seat Check

Jackson Police / Fire Complex

On Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, The Jackson Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public its 13th opportunity in 7 years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

Bring your pills for disposal to the Jackson Police / Fire Complex at 525 South Hope St., Jackson, MO. (The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps, only pills or patches.)

Americans are now advised that their usual methods for disposing of unused medicines—flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash—both pose potential safety and health hazards.

The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Also, Jackson Police will team up with Jackson Fire who will be conducting child safety seat checks at the same location. Jackson Fire will have trained seat installers present to conduct checks free of charge. They will check your child’s safety seat for proper installation and functionally.

For more information about the disposal of prescription drugs or about the Take Back Day event, go to www.DEATakeBack.com or contact Corporal Rick Whitaker at (573) 243-3151 or rwhitaker@jacksonpd.org
