Past: Burrito-Ville and Boy Scouts of America Give Back to Cape

CAPE GIRARDEAU--- Burrito-Ville, a locally owned and operated restaurant, will hold its monthly #GiveBacktoCape fundraising event on May 9 from 5-9 p.m. to benefit the Boy Scouts of America, The Friends of Scouting campaign.

The #GiveBacktoCape event for the Boy Scouts of America will donate 10 percent of all sales 5-9 p.m., including t-shirts, gift certificates, food, beverages and alcohol. The money raised will go towards the Boy Scouts Camperships fund (Friends of Scouting). All proceeds raised from this fundraising event will benefit local Scouters.

The Boy Scouts of America, Friends of Scouting Campaign is an opportunity for scouting families, community supporters and alumni to contribute the Council.The Boy Scouts offers camping financial assistance for youth whose families may not have the financial means to send their child to camp this summer.The week of July 9-13, youth ages 6-11 will attend Day Camp at Cape County Park North. In addition to hiking, fishing, archery and BB guns, the youth will be learning about STEM related activities during Day Camp.

The Boy Scouts of America awarded over 600 camperships to youth in 2017 through the Friends of Scouting campaign. In order for a youth to qualify for a campership, the youth must attend meetings, have an active role in their unit and participate in various fundraising efforts throughout the year.

Attendees at the event can expect to have great food, arts and crafts, and talk with Boy Scout leaders about signing up their kid and learning more about what the Boy Scouts of America has to offer. Kid-friendly and families encouraged.

During the year, Burrito-Ville holds a #GiveBacktoCape event in support of a local organization. You must be a local charity to be considered.
