Past: Southeast Studio of Visual Art
The Southeast Studio of Visual Art will host a intensive weeklong experience for artists ages 14-college. The academy will challenge students technically and artistically through a variety of courses, including oil painting, ceramics, printmaking, and mixed media drawing taught by Southeast art faculty. Throughout the course of the week, students explore both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artistic mediums in studio-style classes while working in a university environment. This experience offers artists the opportunity to discover new mediums and techniques on an individualized basis, as well as create art that can assist students in the creation of an artistic portfolio that may be used in university and scholarship applications. The studio experience culminates with each artist participating in an exhibition of their work on Saturday, June 16, during the River Campus Summer Arts Festival. A minimum of 12 artists must be enrolled for The Southeast Studio of Visual Art to be held.
