Past: Southeast Summer Music Academy: American Fiddle Styles

During this camp, young players will learn a variety of American folk music styles which are part of the U.S. rich cultural heritage. Students will explore Bluegrass, Celtic, French-Canadian, Cajun, Old-Timey and Western Swing.

Students should have a minimum of one year’s playing experience, have completed a Book I text (Suzuki, Essential Elements for Strings, Strictly Strings, String Builder, All for Strings, etc.), and be able to read music in 1st position. Open to ages 8-18 at a cost of $60 per student with instructor Steve Schaffner.
