Past: Southern Illinois Opry Christmas Extravaganza

What began as a simple radio broadcast in 1925 is today a live-entertainment phenomenon in Nashville Tennessee. Dedicated tohonoring country music's rich history and dynamic present, the Grand Ole Opry showcases a mix of country legends and the contemporary chart-toppers who have followed in their footsteps.

In the image of that grand icon, The Southern Illinois Opry was born. Our events feature local talent from all over Southern Illinois. We also feature top International Recording Artists from Nashville and around the world. All of our shows are hosted by the Herrin Civic Center and include Bluegrass, Gospel, and Country Artists.
