Past: Historic Tuesday Talks at Crisp Museum: "Who is Ivers of Ivers Square?"

In June 2017, the City Council of the City of Cape Girardeau voted to name the historic public square at the Courthouse of Common Pleas "Ivers Square." Denise Lincoln, a local historian, will discuss the Ivers,a family who struggled and persevered within the region's difficult reality of slavery. The conversation will focus on the family and their personal contributions to bring to reality, the long-awaited promise of freedom.

Historic Tuesday Talks at Crisp Museum are short lecture and discussion sessions that include Art Movements, Civil War, WWI, Riverboats, the Railroad, Socio-Cultural Issues, Space Exploration, Regional History, Natural Resources, Fossils and Geology.
