Past: Give Back to the Cape Fire Department

Burrito-Ville

CAPE GIRARDEAU--- Burrito-Ville, a locally owned and operated restaurant, will hold a #GiveBacktoCape fundraiser on Aug 1 from 5-9 p.m. to help fund the Cape Girardeau Fire Department’s new training site. Burrito-Ville will a donate percentage of all sales from 5-9 p.m., including t-shirts, gift certificates, food, and beverages.

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department is raising money to purchase new equipment like burn props to use with fire trucks. They also want to get new shipping containers to burn inside of the fire department’s training site on South Spring Street.

The training site is used for other fire departments around the region for Firefighter 1 and 2 programs, which are state-certified programs all firefighters must go through. This includes regional departments in Missouri like Scott City, Bollinger County, Ste. Gen, Madison County, Stoddard County and departments in Illinois. Each year 15 to 20 students are trained at the center.

Attendees at the #GiveBacktoCape event will enjoy great food and drinks, a tour of a firetruck, and access to the fire chief who can answer questions about new programs at the department. Families are encouraged to attend.

During the year, Burrito-Ville holds a #GiveBacktoCape event in support of a local organization. You must be a local charity to be considered.
