Past: Stuff the Bus

The United Way of Southeast Missouri will collect basic school supplies for children in need during its annual "Stuff the Bus" campaign. School buses will be parked in front of Walmart stores from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 4. Athletic groups, student clubs, faculty and staff from participating schools will be collect school supplies that are donated. The buses will be located at Walmart stores in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Perryville, Missouri, Sikeston, Missouri, Fredericktown, Missouri, Dexter, Missouri, Kennett, Missouri, Malden, Missouri and Poplar Bluff, Missouri. More than 20 school districts will benefit from the campaign.. Examples of supplies commonly needed linclude single-subject notebooks, mechanical pencils, two-pock folders, ink pens, bottled school glue, scissors, 24-count crayons, loose-leaf paper, pink erasers and glue sticks. Those interested in helping package school supplies collected are encouraged to go to the Salvation Army at 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 5.
