Past: Original Families Reunion

The 2018 Original Families Reunion will be held on Sept. 29 at Bollinger Mill State Park. Descendants of the pioneer families who settled along the Whitewater River around 1800 or anyone connected or interested in early Cape Girardeau County history is welcome. Planned events include a short presentation from Dr. Frank Nickell, an artifact/document loan table, oral history recording station, and family history tables. The intention of this gathering to join together to collect artifacts, stories, and family histories related to early settlers. Original Families is an organization dedicated to highlighting the rich, early history of Cape Girardeau County.
