8:00 a.m.

Alumni Coffee and Donuts - Informal setting prompting alumni and friends to grab a cup of coffee/hot chocolate and a donut and go outside to enjoy the parade.

9:30 a.m.

Parade - The parade route begins at Capaha Park and travels down Broadway to Main St. before stopping in the Hutson's Furniture parking lot.

Sponsored by the Homecoming Planning Committee. This year’s parade theme is “Now That’s What I Call Southeast”. The parade will feature floats, marching bands, campus organizations and numerous alumni and student dignitaries.

10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Visit the Academic Hall Dome, learn the history of the University’s landmark administration building and sign your name alongside those of hundreds of other alumni who left their signatures inside the dome over the past century. Enter through the main entrance of Academic Hall (facing Normal Avenue).

10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Stop by Kent Library and participate in a Southeast trivia quiz for prizes. While you’re there, reminisce with the Sagamore yearbook collection on display on the main floor. For more information call 573.651.2232.

11 a.m.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) Plaza at Southeast Missouri State University is planned for 11 a.m. Oct. 13 as part of Southeast’s Homecoming festivities.

The Plaza, located on the north end of Parker Field, recognizes Southeast’s eight historically African-American fraternities and sororities, including Alpha Phi Alpha, Iota Phi Theta, Omega Psi Phi and Phi Beta Sigma fraternities and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho and Zeta Phi Beta sororities.

Tailgating

Alumni Hospitality Tent

Alumni Center Lawn - Cape County Alumni Association along with the SEMO University Advancement Staff welcome alumni and friends back to campus. Stop by and grab a complimentary hotdog or chili dog while they last. The hospitality tent is sponsored, in part, by Nationwide, the official property and casualty insurance partner of the Southeast Alumni Association.

Vets Corps Pig Roast

Main Wehking Alumni Center parking lot - The Vets Corps at Southeast Missouri State was established in 1967. Southeast alumni who are veterans and their guests are invited to this annual tailgate event sponsored by the Southeast Vets Corps Alumni. This event will take place on the main Wehking Alumni Center parking lot just west of the Alumni Center along Broadway. For more information, contact Tom Meyer, 573.334.2875.

1 p.m.

Homecoming Football Game, Southeast v. Austin Peay. Come and cheer on the Redhawks! Tickets start at $11 for adults and $6 for fans age 14 and under and can be purchased through the Southeast Athletics office, 1221 Broadway in Cape Girardeau. Tickets will also be available, while supplies last, at the ticket booths in front of Houck Stadium.
