Charles Nemanick Alternative Agriculture Garden

Southeast Missouri State University’s Fifth Annual Spring Wildflower Walk will be held at the Charles Nemanick Alternative Agriculture Garden on Thursday, April 18.

The Spring Wildflower Walk is scheduled from 4-5:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

The walk is an opportunity for the Southeast and local community to see native plants blooming and learn about their life cycle and history. The Spring Wildflower Walk is sponsored by the Department of Agriculture and the Southeast Horticulture Club to promote local gardening and address garden visitors’ plant questions.

The walk provides an opportunity for the campus and local community to learn about Missouri's native spring wildflowers. During the Spring Wildflower Walk, Southeast students and faculty will identify the many plant species that naturally grow in southeast Missouri and include information about the plant’s care and contribution to the environment. There are usually several native plant and spring flower experts present to answer questions and share information about the plants. Additionally, visitors will learn about the Charles Nemanick Alternative Agriculture Garden and the Charles Hutson Horticulture Greenhouse.
