Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus will host a “Weaving Skewers with a Twist” Make and Take Activity as part of Cape Girardeau’s First Friday with the Arts activities July 5 from 4-8 p.m.

The event will be repeated on Saturday, July 6, from 1-4 p.m.

The public is invited to attend, and admission is free. Supplies are provided.

Museum staff will lead participants in learning how to weave colorful yarn on wooden skewer sticks, including the normal over and under method, or their own pattern of weaving can be made. The piece starts out flat, but when twisted, the decoration takes on a new life.
