Past: ‘Vicki Outman: Transition Spaces 19.1’ Opens July 5 in Crisp Museum

“Vicki Outman: Transition Spaces 19.1” opens Friday, July 5, in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

The public is invited to view the exhibition beginning July 5. An opening reception is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. that evening and will include an artist’s talk at 6 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through Aug. 25. Admission is free.

In her artwork, inspired by color, contrast and atmosphere, Outman primarily uses soft pastels to create images of rural landscapes, animals and portraits.

Outman earned a Bachelor of Science in education, fine arts education, and a Bachelor of Science in business education, both from Southeast. She is an art teacher at Fox High School and Lindbergh Middle School, both in St. Louis, Missouri.

She is a member of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri’s Board of Directors, the Visual Arts Cooperative Cape Girardeau, Gateway Pastel Artists, the Poplar Bluff Art Guild, and the Pastel Society of America. She is a recipient of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri’s 2007 Otto Dingeldein Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts.
