Past: Crisp Museum presents 'Chintia Kirana: Transient'

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum

Chintia Kirana’s “Transient,” an exhibition that explores the concept of growth and change while representing the fragility and temporality of moments and memories, is on display Sept. 6-Oct. 20 in the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

The public is invited to view the exhibition beginning Sept. 6. An opening reception is scheduled for 4-8 p.m. that evening and will include an artist’s talk at 6 p.m. Admission is free.

Kirana is a multidisciplinary artist and art activist whose “Transient” is a metaphor for life itself.

Kirana earned a Master of Fine Arts in painting and drawing from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. She is founder of Expose Art House and a non-profit arts organization called Expose Art, an artistic initiative to create an all-inclusive forum for creative minds to openly share their diverse, unique views on the role of art in the realm of cultural, political and philosophical injustices. She is also co-founder of Expose Art Magazine, a global contemporary art publication serving over 10,000 art enthusiasts worldwide.

Throughout the span of a decade, her work has been featured at a multitude of solo, group and juried exhibitions across the United States and abroad, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Dhaka National Museum of Art, Sienna Art Academy, Zhou B Art Center and ISE Cultural Foundation.
