THE AMERICAN BOARD IS HOSTING FREE INFORMATION SESSIONS IN SIKESTON AND IS NOW CERTIFYING IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
Career-changers, paraprofessionals, substitute teachers, parent volunteers, and school staff are encouraged to attend and learn how they can earn their teacher certification online for less than the cost of a college course.
The American Board of Certification for Teacher Excellence is a DESE-approved , education nonprofit organization that is dedicated to building communities by recruiting and certifying local professionals to become teachers. The American Board works with the community to provide the highest-quality educators and role models for every student with their innovative, online teacher certification program.
The American Board is authorized to certify Missouri educators in the following subject areas:
Elementary Education- NEW!!!
General Science (5-9, 9-12)
Biology (9-12)
Chemistry (9-12)
Physics (9-12)
Math (5-9, 9-12)
History (5-9, 9-12)
English Language Arts (5-9, 9-12)
Local career-changers who aspire to run their own classrooms make excellent candidates for the American Board program, particularly if there is an identified need in their school for highly-qualified teachers.
Kimberly Polk, Missouri Director with The American Board, will be hosting free information sessions to discuss the online certification program and take your questions. If you hold a Bachelor’s degree, from an accredited school (in any subject area), and wish to become a certified teacher, you should attend a free information session to find out how you can be running your own classroom within ONE year through the American Board program – for less than the cost of a college course, without student teacher OR having to go back to school.
