Past: Second annual Christmas Veterans Celebration

The event is sponsored by the Perryville, Missouri, veterans organizations, local Girl and Boy Scout troops and the Elks. Col. Mike Winkler, U.S. Military Academy graduate Rick Schemel Jr. and Deacon John Darin will be featured speakers. The Perryvllle Elementary Choir and St. Vincent's School and Church Choir will perform. The American Legion, VFW and Elks Honor Guards will be present. Girl and Boy Scout troops from the community will be processing with ornaments and decorations representing every veteran and active duty service man and woman from the community. The focus this year will be to honor and give back to our surviving World War II veterans. Eagle Bank and Franke's Nursery will provide free Christmas trees to attending World War II veterans and their families. Everyone is welcome. There will be snacks and coffee, and admission is free.
