Past: Axiom Quartet Performing Oct. 27 in ‘Sundays at Three’ Series

The Axiom Quartet will perform a concert in the Chateau Girardeau “Sundays at Three” series at 3 p.m. Oct. 27 in the Robert F. and Gertrude L. Shuck Music Recital Hall on the River Campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

The Axiom Quartet was formed in 2012 and features two violinists, a violist and a cellist. The group has performed sold-out concerts internationally. In 2018, the quartet released its first album, “AXIOMS: Moments of Truth.” Their performance at Southeast is part of the quartet’s Midwest tour.A proudly Houston-based string quartet whose music is as diverse as its native city, the Axiom Quartet is known for curating concerts that mix traditional string quartet repertoire, classical transcriptions, new compositions with popular rock, electronic, indie, jazz and pop genres.

In addition to its “Sundays at Three” performance, the Axiom Quartet also will host masterclasses for Southeast string students Oct. 27 at Southeast’s River Campus.TicketsTickets may be purchased by contacting the River Campus Box Office, located in the Cultural Arts Center, 518 S.
