Attention: This program is cancelled for Saturday 1-15 as the Cape Nature Center will not be open. Activities and displays celebrating our "A year in Color" will be up from Tuesday 1-18 through Saturday 1-22

Blue babbling streams, ancient pink granite, yellow sunflowers, and verdant deep swamps: southeast Missouri is a dazzlingly colorful place! This year the nature center’s theme is “A Year in Color.” Join us for the kickoff celebration of our theme and the hues which fill our region with such splendor. Participants will enjoy crafts, games, and programs all about color. Additionally, you will find this year’s programs coded with a color in their description. Red for wildlife programs, orange for hunting and shooting, yellow for outdoor adventure, green for plants, blue for water, and violet for arts and cooking. Participation in any color-coded activity will earn a bead of that color to place on a nature center carabiner. Attending a full rainbow of six programs, one in each color, will allow you entry into drawings for fabulous prizes! This kick off is an excellent way to start off your rainbow! The “Year in Color” kickoff program is coded as “wild” color and participants will earn a “wild” bead to represent any color they wish.
