Past: Free Peripheral Artery Disease Screening

There will be a free Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) screening on Friday, June 24, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Southeast Primary Care in Perryville, 624 Old Saint Marys Road. PAD is the narrowing or blockage of the vessels that carry blood from the heart to the legs. It is primarily caused by the buildup of fatty plaque in the arteries. The screening takes as little as 15 minutes, and results are available immediately. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 6.5 million people age 40 and older in the United States have PAD.
