Past: Conservation Families: Night Hike

Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center

Registration period: June 6 - July 23

Stay up late and watch the forest work the night shift here at the nature center. Many of Missouri’s creatures hide during the heat of the day and really come alive when the sun sets. We’ll meet calling frogs, interesting mammals, and certainly a spider or two. We will hike about 1.5 miles over gravel trails which do have some hills. Please bring comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and a flashlight. There is a limited supply of flashlights we can loan out. This program is open to all ages, but is designed for families with children ages 6-15. If you are participating in Cape Nature Center’s “A Year in Color” this program earns a yellow outdoor adventures bead.
