Past: Hummingbird Celebration

Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center

Registration period: July 22 - September 3

Date: Saturday, September 3, 2022 7:30 am - 12:00 pm

It’s time to face the future . . . back to school. But until then let’s pack just a bit more fun into these last summer days. The end of summer and the cooler weather have special meaning to our littlest birds, the hummingbirds, as well. They are preparing for their long journey south for the winter.

Our celebration will include scheduled banding demonstrations, presentations, and crafts and activities to learn more about these tiny but mighty birds. Banding demonstrations depend on the safety and health of the birds and weather conditions and will take place early in the day. Indoor activities will occur regardless.

If you are participating in Cape Nature Center’s “A Year in Color” this program earns a wild bead.
