Past: Turning the Clocks Forward Again

Friday, March 6th from 5 to 9 p.m., the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will host a reception for the traveling VSA exhibit Turning the Clocks Forward Again. There will be an accompanying Poetry Workshop on the following day.

Turning the Clocks Forward Again is an anthology of work by talented professional and emerging artists with disabilities living in Missouri. The anthology features artists and writers from 16 towns cities and towns throughout Missouri, including two visual artists from Cape Girardeau: Dave Carter and The Artist Grimm.

In visual arts juror Peter Pranschke’s statement regarding his selections he offered these thoughts: “the work that made it into this anthology certainly deserves special consideration. These pieces stood out to me for their beauty, the skill with which they were crafted and their originality. The dedication and commitment it takes to create such works is remarkable.”

The Visual Arts Cooperative will also feature new works on display in the Jean A. Chapman Gallery of the Arts Council. Join other arts patrons and supporters in welcoming VSA Missouri on Friday, March 6th. The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is located at 32 North Main Street in Cape Girardeau, MO. Galleries are open Tuesday-Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
