The Cape River Heritage Museum announces its 2015 opening will be Saturday, March 21 from 11 am to 4 pm. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children. The museum is located at 538 Independence in the Old Police and Fire Station, and open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Museum exhibits include “Marie Oliver, Designer of the M0 State Flag,” “Willard Vandiver, originator of the ‘Show Me’ State Slogan,” “Louis Houck, Railroad Entrepreneur,” “Children’s Antique Dolls, Toys and Furniture,” “ M0 Mule, the State Animal,” “Col. G. C. Thilenius and Longview,” “Life on the Mississippi,” “Louis Lorimier, Founder of Cape Girardeau,” “Native American Culture,” “Police and Fire Memorabilia,” two old fire trucks, and numerous other items.
