Past: Comic Book Drawing Workshop

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO – Saturday, March 21st, from 1 - 3 p.m. the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri and Cape Comic Con invite you to attend a Saturday Social Comic Book Drawing Workshop. This free workshop will be lead by comic book artists Nathan Bonner and Brian Rhodes and open to all ages.

During the Saturday Social, Bonner and Rhodes will begin with a brief presentation of tips and techniques from their experience creating comic books. Then, participants will be encouraged to pick up an ArtBoard and create their own comic book hero or villain! The artists will be on hand to answer questions and give suggestions to young participants.

Nathan Bonner is the comic book artist and writer behind the Indavo space adventure comics and the Shamus Stone noir comics. Brian Rhodes is the writer and cartoonist behind the smash-hit webcomic Mike and the Ninja. Both artists will be exhibiting vendors at Cape Comic Con from April 17 – 19, 2015, held at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Art Boards created during this event will be eligible for the CAPED! exhibition on display April 18th at the 2015 Cape Comic Con. The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will accept artwork until April 17th for both the Youth Division and Adult Division of this one-day exhibit.

All drawing materials will be provided to participants including Cape Comic Con Artboards. Completed Artboards can be used as a free ticket for the 2015 Cape Comic Con for children age 12 and younger.
