Past: Pulitzer Prize Winner Stephen Dunn

Rose Theater

Stephen Dunn, one of America's most renowned poets and winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the James Wright Award, an Academy Award for Literature, and the National Poetry Series Prize, will present a reading of his work, free and open to the public, on April 16 at 7:00 pm in Rose Theater at Southeast Missouri State University as part of the Nilsen Visiting Writer Series.

His work is praised for its plainspoken imagery exploring the social, cultural, and psychological issues of the middle class in wise and often witty poems. Dunn has been a professional basketball player, a first-generation college student, an ad man for Nabisco, an editor, and a creative writing professor. A booksigning will follow the reading.
