Past: 2015 Cape Girardeau Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit Opening

Join us for the opening of the 2015 Cape Girardeau Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit on Broadway.

A reception will be hosted at the Vasterling Suites Courtyard, on the corner of Broadway Street and Fountain Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau. Opening remarks will begin at 6 pm, and light bar service and hors d'oeuvres will be provided for guests. Afterwards, guests will be encouraged to view seven new sculptures installed on Broadway for the next year.

The 2015 Cape Girardeau Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit was juried by the

Public Art Committee, an effort led by Chris Wubbena. Wubbena has

been active in the Public Art Committee from the beginning, and serves

as Professor of Sculpture at Southeast Missouri State University. Pieces selected to be part of the 2015 Cape Girardeau Outdoor Exhibit will remain on display until April 2016.

By hosting the Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit, the Committee hopes to

achieve two primary goals: increase the number of arts-related activities

within the region, and provide an additional revitalization strategy for Old

Town Cape.
