Past: Performance Artist At Fourth Friday Art Walk
Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center
St. Louis-based performance artist Desna Veleska will make her first appearance in Ste. Genevieve on Friday, April 24, as part of the Fourth Friday Art Walk, a monthly series that features art spaces and shops in historic downtown Ste. Genevieve.
On the fourth Friday of each month from February through November, several art galleries and shops in the historic district are open from 6 to 9 p.m., showcasing the work of regional artists as well as the craft items in locally owned shops.
Delevska's appearance is a free event, as she will create a 20-by-36-inch acrylic painting in about two hours' time while accompanied by live music.
That will take place at the Ste. Genevieve Welcome Center, located at the intersection of Main and Market streets.
Her appearance is being underwritten by the Ste. Genevieve Herald and ViveSteGen.com. the recently launched website of the Herald that features the city's arts, entertainment, French colonial history, wineries, dining, lodging and shopping.
