Cape Girardeau county emergency management

Sam Herndon is the Emergency Management Director for Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, a position he has held since November 2022. He is responsible for coordinating the county’s disaster response from the Emergency Operations Center located at 3555 Veterans Memorial Drive in Cape Girardeau. He oversees the activation of tornado sirens and leads emergency preparedness and response efforts, including during severe weather events.
