Past: Girl Scout Day Camp

The Elks Campground

With the title “Peace, Love, and Girl Scouts” you might be envisioning legions of girls singing campfire folk songs and learning how to macramé belts this summer. But don’t let the name fool you, this year’s Girl Scout Day Camp is going to focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Every girl needs a chance to explore the fascinating world of STEM. At camp this year, they will do that through girl-led activities, learning by doing, and through cooperative learning. Activities will include Naturalism, Digital Arts, Science, Technology, Innovation, and many others. And, of course, there will be the chance for girls to learn about themselves, each other, and the world around us. They’ll go for hikes, build fires, prepare meals, sing songs, play games, and learn crafts. Cost is $45 for registered Girl Scouts. Cost is $60 for non-Girl Scouts. Cost includes meal and snack each day. Juniors and above have the opportunity to spend the night at camp on Thursday, June 4! Camp begins at 8:00 a.m. each day, but you can drop your girl off as early as 7:30 a.m. Pick up is at 3:30 p.m.
