Rock the Heartland

Rock the Heartland is an annual youth Battle of the Bands that celebrates the incredible talent, creativity, and passion of musicians ages 21 and under from across the Midwest. Hosted by SEMO Soundforge and made possible through the generous support of the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, the event provides young artists with the opportunity to perform on a professional stage, connect with fellow musicians, gain valuable performance experience, and compete for exciting prizes.

This year's competition will showcase a diverse lineup of solo performers and bands representing a variety of musical styles, including rock, punk, jazz, indie, folk, and original music. In addition to the competition, participants will take part in an educational workshop designed to help them grow as musicians while building connections within the regional music community.

Rock the Heartland is more than a competition—it's a celebration of young talent and a chance for the community to support the next generation of musicians. Whether you're cheering on a family member, supporting your favorite band, or simply enjoying an evening of outstanding live music, there's something for everyone.
