Past: Boo!Siallage and French Colonial Zombie Festival

Bolduc House Museum

Werewolves on the loose in St. Genevieve, and only the Bolduc House can help!

Once again the Bolduc House museum is holding its Boo!Siallage and French Colonial Zombie Festival in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri!

The Bolduc House museum will open its doors at 10 am distributing werewolf hunting licenses as tickets. If a guest comes dressed as a zombie or werewolf, then that visitor will get half off admission. We will have all day activities as well as scheduled events happening throughout the day. All day activities will include, making apple butter and bloody s’mores around a fire, and possibly boiling a pig’s head.

At 10:30, the children’s Loup Garou, or werewolf, hunt will begin. The Militia will begin the Loup Garou hunt, handing out clues on how to find the Loup Garou. It will be very similar to a scavenger hunt. The hunt should end around 12-12:30. Around 11:30, the oven will be hot enough to bake, so we will be baking witches fingers for a snack.

Starting at 1 pm, the Bolduc House staff will be replacing the bousiallage on its National Historic Landmark Louis Bolduc House. Bousiallage is a mixture of clay, grass, and animal hair that was used to fill the spaces between hand-hewn vertical logs in French colonial houses. Visitors are welcome to help make and replace the bousiallage to put between the logs of the Bolduc House. From 3-3:30, our director, Lesley Barker, will be telling Loup Garou stories to enchant people of all ages.

Although the Bolduc House officially closes at 5, this year we will have an adult Loup Garou hunt in the early evening. This hunt will be from 5 to 6-6:30 for those over the age of 14. It will be a role playing Loup Garou hunt across our campus with foam weapons provided for the hunt. Those who want to participate should register at the Linden house beforehand during the festival. Regular admission will be charged for the hunt, so people who purchased a werewolf hunting license anytime during the day are pre-paid.

Adult tickets are $5 while children's tickets (K-12) are $1.50. People and families of all ages are encouraged to come!
