The Independence Day 5K benefits the Children’s Wellness Fund and includes a Firecracker 1 Mile walk or run that is just for fun, 5K Walk, and a 5K Run. This event takes place at HealthPoint Fitness in Jackson annually on the 4th of July.

The Children’s Wellness Fund provides funding for Diabetes Camps for kids, the Reach out and Read program committed to promote a love of reading and encourage children to read together, the Building Blocks program which provides resources for new mothers and their kids that improves the health, well-being and self-sufficiency of low income, first-time parents and their children. Building Blocks/NFP Nurse Home Visitors with Southeast Home Health work with clients to improve pregnancy outcomes, improve child health, and improve child development.
