Past: Trivia Night

SADI

Did you know the Aktion Club will be hosting its 3rd Annual Trivia Night on June 10? All the details are being worked out for an event full of fun and a perfect way for friends, family, and co-workers to spend a Friday evening. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Trivia starts at 6:30 p.m. at the SADI Building, 755 S Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau. This year’s event features a “Hawaiian Luau” theme, free snacks, a silent auction, and more.

Last year, with the help of community businesses and individuals, Aktion Club was able to save and protect the lives of 1158 babies from maternal neonatal tetanus. Our goal this year is to save at least 1200 babies (100 babies each month.)

We want YOU to be part of this year’s event, too! Be a sponsor! We are offering four levels of sponsorship so that everyone can participate in some way. We are committed to recognizing our sponsors before, during, and after the event. Want to participate? Bring a team of 8 and join the fun! An evening of laughs, free food, and good fun is a bargain at $10 per person.

Email sdjespersen@sbcglobal.net or call 573-683-0515 for additional details or to request sponsorship or team registration forms.

Aktion Club is the only service club for adults with disabilities. Chartered in 2012, the Aktion Club of Cape Girardeau County is co-sponsored by the Jackson and Cape Kiwanis Clubs in partnership with the SEMO Alliance for Disability Independence.

Whether it’s working hard to raise money to eliminate maternal neonatal tetanus, lending a hand at Special Olympics, taking valentines and cupcakes to foster kids, playing bingo with residents of a nursing home, gathering supplies for newborns in need, helping pack Friday backpacks for local children, or providing Christmas gifts to a child in need, these men and women are “making a difference” in our community and “improving” our world.

Did you know that a baby dies every eleven minutes from tetanus? Aktion Club members think that is unacceptable. Did you know that $1.80 will save a life by providing 3 doses of tetanus vaccine? The Trivia Night proceeds will support the Kiwanis world-wide health initiative to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. Your participation and/or sponsorship helps save lives.
