Past: Great Rivers Symphonies

The Southeast Missouri Symphony combines with the Southern Illinois Symphony in its final concert of the Tenth Anniversary Season paying homage to the majestic river that flows past the River Campus. The symphonies will present great symphonic works inspired by great rivers, including Schumann’s beautiful “Rhenish” Symphony (inspired by the composer’s trip on the Rhine River) and Smetana’s tone poem The Moldau, closing with the jazzy, upbeat Mississippi Suite by Grofé. Tickets are $16-19.
