Past: Great American Fourth of July

The event will begin at 6:45 p.m. Monday in front of the Common Pleas Courthouse on the Spanish Street side in Cape Girardeau. The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band will provide patriotic music, a naturalization ceremony will be held, and the Spirit of America Award will be presented. U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt will speak at the event, and District Judge Stephen Limbaugh will preside. A fireworks display will begin at 9:15 p.m. on the riverfront. A shuttle will be available to transfer attendees from the Show Me Center to downtown.
