The American Red Cross Southeast Missouri Chapter will hold a Home Fire Prevention Campaign as a part of the United Way of Southeast Missouri's first annual United Days of Caring. The American Red Cross is accepting appointments from Jackson and the Fruitland area residents who wish to have smoke alarms installed in their home. Anyone who is interested in having trained volunteers come to install smoke alarms as well as education about fire safe please call (573) 335-9471 ext. 1310 by Sept. 5. The Red Cross will partner with the Jackson Fire Department and the Fruitland Fire Department. If you are interested in volunteering with the Red Cross and the United Way please contact Joe at (573) 335-9471 ext. 1303. The event will start at 8 am. at the Jackson Civic Center.
