Downtown Cape Girardeau

Riding Reading Standards, Excelsiors, Shaws, Indians and Harleys, motorcycle afficianado's from 24 U.S. states and nine countries will make their way to Cape Girardeau as part of the Race of the Century on Wednesday, September 14. Limited to 100 riders, Race of the Century participants start their 3400 mile journey in Atlantic City on September 10 and conclude in San Diego on September 26.

Their overnight stop in Cape Girardeau will feature Race of the Century bikes, all manufactured in 1916 or earlier, parked along the Mississippi River Tales Mural on Water Street for viewing. Oldies tunes will add a festive feel and vintage cars and motorcycles from the region will be on display in the Hutson's parking lot as well as food and beverage vendors that will round out the fun!

Join in the Welcome Party in downtown Cape Girardeau! Race of the Century riders will be cruising across the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge and through downtown Cape Girardeau before parking on Water Street. Riders are scheduled to begin arriving arrive around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14 and will be parked downtown until 6:15 p.m., where you can enjoy food, music and one-of-a-kind antique and vintage cars and bikes – not to mention some very interesting riders!
