Past: Crisis Intervention Team Officer Appreciation Banquet

Robinson Construction Event Hall

Our Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Program of Southeast Missouri will be holding a CIT Officer Appreciation Banquet to celebrate the hard work that has already taken place through CIT and to recognize those officers who are on the front lines every day trying to help our communities be safe.

CIT program is a model for community policing that brings together law enforcement, mental health providers, hospital emergency departments and individuals with mental illness and their families to improve responses to people in crisis. CIT programs enhance communication, identify mental health resources for assisting people in crisis and ensure that officers receive the training and support to stand ready when the need arises. Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Officers are vital to our communities’ efforts to respond effectively to individuals in a mental health crisis so that they receive appropriate assistance.

Our law enforcement departments never know when they could be confronted with someone with a mental health issue. CIT training provides the tools to keep safe those in a mental health crisis and those who are attempting to help them.
