Past: 'Is He Dead?'
Richard D. Kinder Performance Hall, Cape Central High School
“Is He Dead” by Mark Twain is a comedy about a French painter, Jean-Francois Millet, who pretends to be dead in order to increase the value of his paintings, and then dresses up as a woman to keep his secret safe. This social satire uses cross-dressing, mistaken identities, and romantic deceptions to tell its story.
