Past: 1st-Ever-11th-Annual-Louis J. Lorimier World Famous Downtown Golf Tournament

Common Pleas Courthouse

This is a nine-hole course starting at the Common Pleas Courthouse. The course weaves across Cape Girardeau’s downtown, near businesses, through alleyways, and even down to the riverfront. The tournament is a fundraiser for the Red House Interpretive Center. The entry fee is $30 a person, which includes the nine holes of golf, some BirdieBalls for putting, and an all-you-can-eat catfish buffet. A BirdieBall is a plastic, napkin-ring shaped ball that will be used during the tournament. Participants are asked to bring one club of their choice, either a five iron or a six iron, and the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Foundation will provide special strike pads to minimize damage to playing surfaces and equipment. Early, discounted registration closes on Sept. 21 and an entry fee must accompany a completed entry form. The tournament is open to all ages.
