Capaha Park Bandshell

People in recovery from substance addiction are celebrating with their first annual Addiction Recovery Awareness March and Rally. They are urging all people throughout our community and the surrounding area to participate with their families. They want to show others who they are in order to reduce the stigma associated with addiction. The march will assemble at 9 a.m. by the band shell and shelter at Capaha Park. A shuttle provided by South East Missouri University will transport participants to the parking lot across from Buckners to assemble. The march will begin at 10 a.m. and proceed using the sidewalks from Main Street to the band shell at Capaha Park. The keynote speaker will is Paul Rada a Behavioral Health Clinical Nurse Educator for Truman Medical Center’s inpatient units, as well as Lakewood and Fairmount Counseling in Truman’s outpatient programs.
