Past: The Right to Remain Silent as Portrayed in The Night Of and Making a Murderer: A public lecture using popular culture to understand the 5th Amendement

The Southeast Redhawks Debate Team is proud to host a public lecture that explores the criminal justice system and the 5th Amendment of the constitution as they are depicted through popular culture. Federal Civil Rights Attorney and Criminal Appellate Attorney, Andrew Casey, will discuss the television series The Night Of and documentary series Making a Murder in order to provide a legal perspective on the importance of choosing to remain silent. The lecture will be held on Thursday, October 27, in Crisp Hall 125, from 6:00-7:30. The lecture is free and open to the public. The lecture will be discussing mature themes and so audiences should be advised.
