Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, 16B North Spanish Street

The Missouri Fiber Artists are makers, creators and artists whose work primarily features natural or synthetic fibers, including textiles, fabrics, papers, reed, yarn, thread, and more. This month, they will exhibit over forty original works all sized 12”x12.” Throughout the opening reception, the local Twisting Sisters Second Saturday Spinners have coordinated fiber artist demonstrations to take place in the Arts Council’s Workshop Room.

At 6:30 pm, the Southeast Missouri Dance Ensemble will perform excerpts from their Fall for Dance Concert performing Nov. 17-20th. The dance pieces will be both student and faculty work including a mixture dance genres; ballet, modern, and jazz dance.

The Visual Arts Cooperative will also debut new works in the Visual Arts Cooperative Gallery. Featured window exhibitors for November are Sarah Cochrane and Tom Neumeyer.

Catapult: Creative House, 612 Broadway Street

Gallery: “Literary Innovation: A Juried National Exhibition Inspired by William Faulkner and Ernest Hemingway” will be on display.

Student Studios: “Un, In, and None” will be on display. The exhibition will feature the work of eleven Southeast Missouri State University Art Department student artists and will open the First Friday in November. Through object and idea the exhibition creates a dialog investigating the confluence of life and image.

Catapult Press: The Press will be hosting visiting Artist Matt Hopson-Walker, currently coordinator of foundations, interim graduate coordinator and assistant professor in printmaking and foundations at the University of South Alabama.Artist Talks and Letterpress will take place earlier Thursday and Friday.

Treat yourself to a night out on the town. It's date night at the Indie House for couples or even your best friend. We have a great night planned for you! There's bourbon tastings for the guys and sangria for the ladies. For the creative souls we will be making coasters and there will be discounts throughout the house.

“The Wanderlust Matrix: A Long-Distance Relationship” will have an opening reception October 7 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A themed lithography portfolio curated by Southeast alum, Candice Corgan. The exhibit includes the work of 20 artists, all printed by Corgan while completing the Master Printer program at the Tamarind Institute in New Mexico.
