Past: John F. Kennedy 100th birthday exhibit

Union County Museum

Union County Museum will hold an exhibit celebrating the 100th birthday of John F. Kennedy. Kennedy was born May 29, 1917 and was the 35th president of the United States. The display will feature items from the collection of Michael Bottiaux of Herrin, Illinois and from another private collection. Bottiaux has been a Kennedy collector for around 50 years and has amassed an impressive collection. The exhibit will include letters with Kennedy's signature, a Harvard yearbook from 1940, pre-presidential campaign items from Kennedy's political career, memorabilia form the 1960 presidential election, materials from when Kennedy was president, memorial artifacts and other rare and unique items. The public may bring in Kennedy items for authentication on May 13. Value estimates will not be given.
